Hudsons Oldsmobiles Plymouths AUTO COtMlY LI MtOVO, OTAH- Max (Greasy) Warner former Provo high school and Brigham Young university football star, was set today for formal signing of a contract to coach at Park City for the 1937-38 school year. He will succeed Pete Carlston, former University of Utah grid star who this week was named athletic director at Westminster Junior college. Fred (Buck) Dixon, "Y" tennis ten-nis coach, who recommended Warner for the position, said he believed "Greasy" would make a fine coach. The former Cougar captain is well schooled in athletics, ath-letics, and has the ability to handle boys. While his chief experience ex-perience has been in football, Warner is well-rounded in all sports. Playing as a football regular for three years under the tutelage tute-lage of Coach G. Ott Romney, Warner gained all-conference recognition during his senior year. Although he weighed but 185 pounds he was a guard feared by every opposing team. His speed made him invaluable as a blocker and interference runner. He likely will report at Park City shortly after September 1. c 0 CHECK QUALITY, GOUDITIOU and PRICES! The White Sox came to town Monday with a chance to cut the Yankees American league lead to one game, but were sunk by the Bronx Bombers three straig'ht times. Today the Yanks led the race by eight games. The faltering falter-ing pale hose barley held second place from the Boston Red Sex riding the crest of an eight game winning streak. Yesterday Chicago was edged out by the Yankees, 10-9. Jake Powell singled with the ljises loaded, in the ninth to drive in the winning run. The Yanks put on another of their power displays. Bill Dickey cracked out his second home run in two days with the bases loaded and Lou Gehrig blasted another with two mates aboard. If the Yankees slip, the Boston Red Sox may be able to take up the challenge that the White Sox let slip from their grasp.
