U. summer school student body and visiting faculty members in the sacred grove on the "Y" campus Thursday evening. Dean and Mrs. A. C. Lambert, President Franklin S. Harris, Royden Braithwaite, Miss Huitau Allred, Harold Smith and several members of the faculty comprised the receiving line. Miss Bona Ashby, president of next year's Associate Women Students' organization, and Miss Anneliese Buggart uoured, while members of the; White Keys served. A beaueiful white linen cloth covered the table which held a centerpiece of the : eason's flowers. Attractive lawn furniture, baskets bas-kets of cut flowers and colorful .Japanese lanterns added a pleading plead-ing effect. Approximately 300 guests called call-ed and enjoyed the following delightful de-lightful program, furnished undei -the direction of Miss Margaret Sumrherhays: Selections, string trio, Donald Olsen, Miss Carma Ballif and Jay Keeler; vocal numbers, num-bers, ladies' glee club; selections, quartet. K. Nielsen home in Pleasant View Thursday evening, a delightful program being turnished undei the direction of A- C. Anderson. Community singing was led by William Knudsen; talks were made by C. V. Hansen and Mr. and Mrs. P. K. Nielsen; comic leading, Ephraim Ellertson; violin solo. Miss Clara Fotland; vocal numbers, William Knudsen and Viggo Christiansen; vocal duet, Mrs. Norma King and Miss Rena Pedersen. A number of lively games were played, and 50 members were served a delicious luncheon. Mrs. A. C. Anderson, Mrs. Andrew Nelson Nel-son and Mrs. A. B. Fotland comprised com-prised the refreshments committee, commit-tee, and they were assisted by Mrs. P. K. Nielsen, Mis Kena Pedersen and Mrs. Jacob Lassen. Hansen, vice president of the Utah Christian Endeavor Union of Community Congregational church, will leave from Salt Lake City Sunday morning tor Grand Rapids, Mich., to attend the International C. E. convention to be held from July 8 to 14, inclusive. The Provoan, tne former Ruby Street, will be among a group of 14 delegates from Utah, and the trip is to be made in automobiles by way of Chicago. After the convention, con-vention, the Utah group will cross cn the Muskegon ferry to Milwaukee, Mil-waukee, then on to Springfield, 111., Topeka, Kansas, and Denver, and will travel home through Pueblo and Grand Junction. They expect to return in two weeks. Other Utahns will join the group at convention and since Utah has the largest percentage registration at the conclave, her representatives have been honored ly being stationed first in the parade pa-rade of 15,000 participants. Every country in the world will be represented, rep-resented, Mrs. Hansen reports. Attractive white uniforms with red capes lined in white are to be worn by the Utan delegation. A large white "Utah" appears on the back of the capes and a small "C. E." on the flaps. Gay white and red caps complete the costume. cos-tume. Mrs. Hansen reports that Rev. and Mrs. Edwin F. Erwin of Provo Pro-vo Community church, who are in Chicago, at present, will join the Utah group. Important personages sue'n as Richard E. Byrd. Dr. Daniel A. Poling of New York, international C. E. president, and Homei Rhodeover of radio fame, will speak at the various banquets and meetings planned. Pace on East Center street, wathe scene of a delig'ht ful buffet supper and social af fair Thursday evening, when the mothers' club of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity of the U. of U., Salt Lake City, entertained. The sons and fathers were honor hon-or guests on this occasion, and a few special guests were also in cluded. The greater part of the group, numbering 65, came from Salt Lake City. Colored lig'hta and beautiful flowers added to the natural beauty of the lawns, where the function was held. An informal program of musical numbers and readings followed the supper. Kiwanians To Hold Boat Outing Kiwanians, their wives, children and friends will enjoy a trip to tfird island on the Smith-Strong boat Thursday evening. They are to meet promptly at 5 o'clock at the bay, and will disembark and visit the island it is announced. Dancing and a program has been planned. Each family is to provide its own picnic but the club will serve ice cream, cakes and coffee. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Carson of Salem, are the parents of a daughter, daugh-ter, born this morning at the family fam-ily home. Mrs. Carson was formerly form-erly Ruth Mildred Hanks.
