Rambeau Society Editor Phone 494 17 I " Students Are Entertained In Provo Various delightful social activities activi-ties were tendered the University of Utah student officers by the B. Y. U. student body Friday and Saturday, the visitors being here for the B. Y. U.-U. of U. basketball basket-ball games. A banquet was held at Keeleys Saturday evening before the game, at which the following special guests were in attendance: Pres. F. S. Harris and his daughter, Miss Leah Harris, Dr. George Thomas of the U. of U., and Coach Vadal Peterson and wife of the U. of U. The U. of U. officers include: Albert Heiner, president; Mary Boyden, first vice president; Larry Summerhays, second vice president; presi-dent; Julia Brixon, secretary; Harold Carlston, treasurer. Brief talks were made by Dr. Harris, Dr. Thomas, Coach Peterson, Peter-son, Mr. Heiner and Virgil Wedge, B. Y. U. student body president. A trio, comprising Vernis Richards. Rich-ards. Carol Bennett and Jean Halverson sang, acompanied by Ann Clayson. After the game, the group were guests at the student body dance at the Provo high school gym. Saturday afternoon,, members of the two student councils enjoyed a trip to Wildwood in Provo canyon. can-yon. A baseball game was played in the snow, after which a delicious de-licious hot luncheon was served. Later, the group enjoyed skating and toboganning at Vivian park. A supper was served the visitors at Sutton cafe Friday evening before be-fore the game, and later, a dancing danc-ing party was tendered them at Keeleys. Husbands Are Honor Guests Members of the Alice Louise Reynolds club, Chapter No. 1, were hostesses to their husbands at a delightful dinner party at the home of Mrs. Clarence Boyle. The guests were served at small tables, sweet peas and carnations were arranged about the entertaining enter-taining rooms. Following dinner, Mrs. J: J. Weight gave a splendid review of the book, "Men In White.l. Hostesses were; Mrs. Boyle, l&rs. Frank Earl, Mrs. Wayne B. Hales, Mrs. Orea B. Tanner, Mrs. Antone Romney, Mrs. Aldous Dixon, Mrs. Claude Knell and Mrs. Lester Taylor. !f 3f if. At The Provo Today and tomorrow the Provo theater will present radio's latest ladies home companion, Edward Everett Horton in the screen version ver-sion of the play tliat rocked Broadway for eight laugh-packed months, "Her Master's Voice," with Peggy Conklin, Laura Crews, Grant Mitchell and Elizabeth Eliza-beth Patterson. 250,000 New Yorkers York-ers saw it as a play and unanimously unani-mously voted it the best comedy of the season. Relief Society Programs The literary committee will have charge of the program in the various ward Relief society meetings Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Ramsbotham has the music in charge. SECOND WARD The review is to be given by Mrs. LaVon H. Jones. THIRD WARD Mrs. Maurine Taylor and Mrs. Lillie Foster will review the book. FOURTH WARD A background introducing the lesson will be presented by Mrs. Ardell Ashworth, and the review is to be given by Mrs. J. M. Redd. Mrs. W. H. Boyle has the music in charge, which includes vocal solos by Mrs. Nola Nilsson and Miss Hilma Henrie. A trained kindergarden leader will have ( the nursery in charge. Brigadier quartet; quar-tet; piano solo, Fred Kartchner; short talk, "An Appreciation of Our Legacy," La Mar Maycock. SIXTH WARD The Junior class has charge of the preliminary program. A chorus chor-us will sing, "Oh, Its' Joy to Be a Junior Girl." Orvilla Luke will sing and a reading will be given by Helen Durfee. The Lyceum course will be continued in the senior class. PIONEER WARD A one-act play, "Three's a Crowd" will be presented during dur-ing the preliminary period. In the senior, class, Clayton Jenkins secretary of the Provo chamber of commerce will talk on "The Essentials of a Short Story." A dance will be held after Mutual, to which the public is invited. MANAVU WARD During the preliminaries, Kenneth Ken-neth Evans will give selections on the harmonica and accordion. Classwork will be held in all departments. de-partments. After Mutual, the annual Gold and Green ball will be held. Visitor Is Entertained Mr. and Mrs. Loren Carter entertained en-tertained Saturday evening at their home for Glen Carter, who is home from the U. S. Navy. Games were followed by delicious delic-ious refreshments. A cake-eating contest proved delightful, the prizes going to Leland Dean and Royal Mott. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Leland Dean, Mr. and Mrs. Royal Mott, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Andy Johnson, John-son, Mr. and Mrs. Has Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Morlin Carter, Mr. and Mrs. Loren Carter. Y .U., whose engagement engage-ment to George Bloomfield of Colorado, also a "Y" student, was announced by Mrs. Louie Frost, mother of the bride-elect. Wedding plans are being made, for the close of school. A lovely water lily centerpiece was used on the table, around which were seated Miss Frost, Mrs. Frost, Miss Clyda Hammond, Miss Maude Redd, Miss Norma Perkins, Miss Edith Heywood, Miss Vira Henrie, Miss Grace Prince and Miss Hilma Henrie.
