U. held a charming charm-ing tea at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Lloyd-Xu Cullimore Thursday afternoon. The guests were greeted at the door by Miss Vanola Fairbanks and Mrs. Elsie C. Carroll and the Misses Ndrine Checketts, Jean, Smith, Margaret Boyer and Nola Comer were in the receiving line. The rooms were beautifully decorated dec-orated with a variety of autumn flowers, and a cheery blaze in the fireplace added a pleasing effect. Yellow tapers and a large green bowl of nasturtiums were shown to advantage on a lovely lace cover. Lyle Holdaway and Elcee Law poured. Beautiful music was furnished by a tring trio, composed of Elda Neves, piano; Stella Frisby, cello; Rowena Christensen, violin, and Bana Ashby and Ada Ashby, vo calists. I One hundred and fifty guests called during the afternoon. Nor- ine Checketts was chairman on ! arrangements, and working with her were Lyle Holdaway and Jean Smith. Other unit members present pres-ent were: Beth Stout, Norma Perkins Per-kins and Merline Gardner. To prepare juice, crush thro-oughly thro-oughly about 4 pounds of fully ripe fruit. Do not peel or pit. Add 1 cup water, bring to a boil, and simmer, covered, 10 minutes. Place fruit in jelly cloth or bag and squeeze out juice. (Sour cling stone plums make best jelly. If sweet plums or free-stone prunes are used, substitute cup strained lemon juice or Vi cup of prepared juice specified.) Measure sugar and juice into large saucepan and mix. Bring to a boil over hottest fire and at once add bottled fruit pectin, stir-rintr stir-rintr constantly. Then bring to a full rolling boil and boil hard 1 minute. Remove from fire, skim. pour quickly. Parafine hot jelly at once. Makes about 11 glasses (6 fluid ounces each). Open Session At Fine Arts Club An exceptionally interesting open session of the Fine Arts club was held Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Le Roy J. Robertson. Rob-ertson. Bright colored autumn flowers were used as a decoration.
