Phone 494 Fashions - Menus Church, Lodge Functions Fjiendly Circle Entertain Husbands The Friendly Circle of the Alice Louise Reynolds chapter No. 2, and their husbaRds, participated in a most enjoyable social event at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Robinson, Saturday evening. Dinner was served in the early evening from small tables, prettily pret-tily decorated with bud vases of nasturtiums and ferns. Dinner stories were told during the repast. re-past. Dr. Christen Jensen ga'o an interesting talk dealing with "Problems of the Saar Basin." "Modern Day Domestic Problems" were solved by R. E. Allen acting as the voice of experience. An amusing contest in doll dressing was carried on by the husbands which created much merriment. The prize for this feature went to J. William Knight. Charades were ployed. The rooms throughout were attractive in merigolds and feres. The guest list included Mr. and Mp.-j. J. R. Robinson. Dr. and Mrs. Franklin S. Harris, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Allen. Lanen and Mr. and Mrs. Shirley Bee attended the funeral services for Thomas H. Hull in Salt Lake Sunday. They were accompanied by Miss Marjorie Bee who has returned to Logan to resume school studies at the A. C. Dr. and Mrs. Gordon M. Stevenson Steven-son left Sunday for New York alter alt-er a pleasant visit in Provo with Mrs. Stevenson's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Wells L. Brimhall. Dr. Stevenson Stev-enson will be connected with tffe Columbia university and do interne in-terne work at the Presbyterian hospital in New York. Claire Young of Hollywood, Cal. is spending a few days in Provo with friends. Mr. Young is art director at the Warner Bros, studio. Mr. and Mrs. John K. Nevrton of Logan have returned home alter alt-er spending two weeks with relatives rela-tives and friends in this city. Mr. and Mrs. H. J. 8tagg are in receipt of a telegram from their son, John B., announcing his safe arrival in New York. Mr. Stagg sailed 4on the S. S. Washington from the British mission and is expected to reach Provo the latter part of the week. Mr. and Mrs. Vomer A. Powell ' and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Madsen and Miss Sylvia Madsen have returned from California where they spent the past two weeks at Long Beach and other points. They witnessed the rose parade and carnival at Pasadena on New Year's Day. En route home the party enjoyed a trip to the Boulder dam. Mrs. Arthur I. Senator Robert Carey, D., YVyo., and his wife were fatally injured in an automobile accident last night. FIRST WARD In the preliminary program, Miss Velda Hone will give a leading and piano-accordion music will be furnished by Miss Ada Bischoff. A brief talk will pe given by a Bee-Hive girl. Regular department work will be held in the classes. SEC OND WARD The Third ward senior class will furnish the preliminary program. A New Year's dance will be held at the close of Mutual for all members and friends. Music and chat followed the repast. . Third Ward R. S. Party The officers of the Third ward Relief society entertained Friday at the R. S. hall in compliment to the visiting teachers. At 1:30 p. m. a bounteous hot dinner was served. Mrs. W. Monroe Paxman and Mrs. Hepsy Lewis of the stake board and Bishop Eves, were guests and each spoke to the gathering. Musical numbers were furnished by Carol and Berlyn Williams and the Relief spciety choir. Mrs. Izola Lewis read an interesting one act play and in all the affair was a very delightful one. Saturday Bridge Club Mrs. Hugh Jolley received the members of the Saturday Afternoon After-noon bridge club at her home Saturday. Mrs. Bud Nilsson received re-ceived the first prize and the second favor went to Mrs. Whit Hoover. O. Cfaudin, charging violation of the city zoning zon-ing law, a clarifying statement is in order. The Berg Mortuary, mentioned in the article as one of two other companies operating in the residential-district, has never been charged with violating the cgf zoning laws. Its mortuary business busi-ness at 185, East Third South street is being operated under a temporary permit granted by the city adjustment board. - No it 'erence was intended in the article in question that tne Berg Mortuary was violating the law.
