Show 1 PROVO (UTAH) EVENING HERALD, FRIDAY, JANUARY 13, 1933 PAGE FIVE SCOUTING Timpanogos Council PROVO DISTRICT .69 SEEK HOOVER AWARD Fifty-nine troops in the Timpanogos Tim-panogos council of the boy scouts have met the requirements for the President Hoover award for achievement during 1932, it is announced an-nounced today by Mrs. Jennie Massey, council secretary. The awards are given to the troop; Tiich has formally indicated indi-cated that it. has thoroughly familiarized fami-liarized itself with the ten-year program of growth, which has maintained a satisfactory schedule of meetings, and has had progress in achievement, and which shows ? membership, duly registered, on December 31, 1932, in excess of its registered -membership on December!, Decem-ber!, 1931. To each of the 59 troops which haveearned the award will be given giv-en a president's streamer or a metal emblem suitable for attachment attach-ment -to the troop flagstaff. The 'Hoover award is the first step in the inauguration of the ten year program of B. S. A. growth. The ten-year plan has as its prime object the reaching of one of every four boys of the age of 12 years so that one of every four new male citizens shall be trained in four years of scouting. The troops .meeting the requirements require-ments are as follows: Lehi 3, 4, 703; American Pork 13, 14; Alpine, Pleasant Grove 21, 23; Manila, Lake View, 71, 72, 73; Payson, 93; Genola; Fillmore, 201; Nephi, 131, 132, 133; Delta, 140; Oasis, Hinckley, Hinck-ley, 147, 148; Sutherland; Heber, 211, 212, 213; Midway, 217; Keet-ley; Keet-ley; Vernal, 231. 232, 233, 235; Hiawatha; 'Blandtng, Moab; Bennett, Ben-nett, Montfccello, Milford; Cedar City, 333; Kanab, 362; Fredonia, Aliz.; Glendale, St. George, 402, 403; Santa Clar,a, Panaca, Nevada.
