More Deer In Uinta Forest The annual fish and game report of the Uintah National Forest shows 500 elk, 2250 deer and 118 black or brown bear in this district, dist-rict, according to Forest Supervisor Charles DeMoisy, Jr of Provo. The report shows M increase j1 12!Jltft'fiujl, deer since i year ago. The estimate esti-mate of the number of elk in the Nebo herd has been dropped T.00 hcod because of the.- counts made by airplane last Spring and the fact that it is known that some have drifted to other ranges remote from the Uintah forest. Game birds on the forest are not Plentiful except in the Strawberry era me refuge and bird sanctuary where sage chickens are plentiful nnd increasins: steadily. On some parts of the forest it was noticed thjs year that blue and pinnated grouse were increasing -lightly, but their numbers are not large anywhere. . An unus'ually heavy drain of fish stocks was mae'e in ths season of 1931? in the smaller streams of '.hex forest because of the water drying up or getting so low that the Tish were easily caught out nearly to the last one. SALT LAKE CITY, Jan. 12 UJ!) Just how good are these Bobcats of Montana State college? Did their twin victory over last year's R. M. C. champions, t the University of, Utah, reveal an exceptionally ex-ceptionally strong quintet at Boze-man Boze-man or an unusually weak five at Salt Lake City? ' In any event, the Bozeman aggre gation , is an enigma to the Wester Division, R. M. C, and Utah hoop fans are more than curious to learn the actual strength which lies at the beck and call of the Montanans. Montan-ans. An answer to the question will probably be given in the basketball series, Friday and Saturday, between be-tween the Bobcats and Utah Aggies. Ag-gies. If Montana "takes" the Aggies Ag-gies with the same impressive dispatch dis-patch that it trounced the Utes particularly in the second game-then game-then it can be rated as a contender of the western division title race. ' At this time, one favored team for the western division crown is LBrigham Young university which not oniy gave tne iamous uoiaen Bobcats" of Montana the former Montana State team that won three conference championships their hardest game in this section,, but also trounced the Henry's Clothiers of Wichita in a two-game two-game scries. Up until their double defeat at the hands of the Cougars the Wichita Wich-ita Five had experienced only one defeat at the hands of a college team in the past five years. . Brigham Young takes on the University of Utah ct Salt Lake and is an overwhelming favorite to win.
