Not only do I believe that all places of public, amusement should close at midnight, but as an example ex-ample to the young, all home parties part-ies should terminate at the same hour. JHow can you expect young people to want to obey the closing hour lawHfheir elders violate the spirit of . the law by having house parties till the early morning hours ? Many people when theygb to a party are a good deal like the little boy eating cakerthey want to over-gorge. Theyv turn what might be an evening's recreation into a dissipation, and then wonder why they are unfit to do anything the next day r"The writer attended a party recently where a prominent business executive and his associates asso-ciates were present. Pomptly at 11:30 p. m. these gentlemen and their ladies said their, evening adieus, and when pressed to stay longer, replied "We have made it a rule to leave an evening's entertainment, enter-tainment, while we had a desli2 for more." If this has been found to be a good rule to follow for suc cessful business men, why Isn't it a good plane for all of us? In conclusion, the writer, in some way," .had gained , the impression that a depression wason ; but when places of amusement- inferentially claim that they re unable, during the hours between 8 a. m. and 12 o'clock- .midnight, to accommodate the vast throngs that-clamber for admittance, perhaps after all, he Js mistaken, and the so called hard, times are only psychologically so. - JACOB V COLEMAN. 4c MAPLETON Mrt.
