Mrs. Newell will be honor ed at a. family dinner in the home of her daughter and son- in law, Mayor and Mrs. I C. .W. 1 Love, IProvo. Mrs. Newell, whose sister, Mrs. Ida Smoot Dusenberry, : is also a resident Mrs. NeweU of Provo, was born Feb. 1880, in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Abraham O. and Annie K. Morrison Smoot. She moved to Provo when she was six years old and has been a resident of this community since that time. Mrs. Newell Is a member of the LDS church, and on Dec. 13, 1878, she was marired to the late Myron C. Newell in the Salt Lake City LDS Endowment House. The couple had 10 children. eight of whom are still living. They are: Clark Newell, Mrs. C. W. Love and Mrs. Stanley M. Clark, Provo; Mrs. Raymond Brown, Columbus, Ind.; Morris E. Newell, Blackfoot, Ida.; Mrs. J. W. Randall, Ogden: Mrs. L. A. PoUlson, Richfield, Utah.r and Mrs. Theodore Raile, Whittler, Cal. " ' There are also 29 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Newell's parents came to Utah and settled in Salt Lake City with-the Mormon pioneers. Her father was an early mayor of Provo and served , for seven terms. Mrs. Newell is a sister of the late Reed Smoot, ' Utah sen ator. Mr. and Mrs. Newell were early ranchers in the Vineyard area.
