From Mexico they flew to Acapulco to deep sea fish and then went by boat to Vera Crux and on down to Yuca tan. They returned via El Paso, Tex., and while in - Arizona they visited ' with Chris . OREM William R. Firmage, president of the Provo Kiwanis club will be the principal speak' er at the annual Distinguished Service award banquet of the Orem Junior Chamber of Com merce to be held at Parks cafe Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 8 p. m. At that time, a committee will name Orem's outstanding young man of the year. Mr. Firmage will speak on "The . Role of , Young Men in Community Leadership and Good Government." The award this year will make the fourth annual presentation to be made by. the Orem Jaycees. - A committee composed of local citizens over 38 years of age makes the selection of the young man to receive the J aycee DSA Key and certificate and the hon-oree hon-oree is not disclosed ' until the award banquet. This year's committee-is composed of Fire Chief Scott Thompson, Bishop Ray E. Hanks, representing church and business groups; Orville K.' Harris, Har-ris, representing the Orem Chamber Cham-ber of Commerce; Ed Wickman, city building inspector and representative rep-resentative of the Orem f Lions club, and Vic Durham, representing, represent-ing, the Orem city council and Jaycees. City, officials announce this week that here after culinary water statements are to be mailed out quarterly in Springvllle, on April 1, July 1, October 1, and January 1. Fol lowing 20 days after mailing, if a substantial payment is not made, the service, win be .discontinued. The officials point out that the new plan will work to the advant age of the water-users as well as to the city... The city is not in a position; to carry delinquent accounts ac-counts and it will be easier for townspeople if they keep their bills current, it was stated, and cooperation . of citizens ' in ' this matter was solicited. Last summer, a canvass. of the city- was made, to determine as nearly as possible the amount of water used v by each property owner. Prior to this, city officials had been informed that because of the city's low water rates as compared with other cities, Springvllle bonds could not be sold as buyers , refused to purchase pur-chase them. : An Investigation proved this . to be true and an nual water rates at that time were set as follows: First tap of sink, $10; tub 12.00; toilet, $2.00; shower- separate from tub, $2.00; basin, $.50; laundry, $.50.
