Wild West Modified Tour rumbled into town April 11 and 12 with drivers from six states representing their-driving-abili-ties at the Diamond Mountain Speedway. Vernal drivers Rod White, Levi Pummell, Tony Hardinger; Roosevelt area drivers driv-ers Ghery and Kelly Smith; and Myton driver Chase Hansen took part in the 60 car field. Friday night Hardinger had a hard luck night getting caught in a four-car tangle, ending his night early, Pummell and Hansen were the only local drivers to round out the top 24 A-Main feature. fea-ture. Saturday afternoon, White, Hansen and Smith transferred to the 25 car A-Main feature. Each driver had to transfer from their heat by winning the first or second position. Those drivers that did not score those top two positions had to run a B -Feature and from those standings the top four transferred to the 24 or 25 car A-Main feature. This is the second year for the Wild West Tour to open the season for the local dirt track. On the yearly agenda DMS will host U.R Sprint cars for two separate shows, the Dwarf Car Regionals will also return in June and each of the local classes will have a special feature. Next race will be May 10 at 6 p.m. On the nightly agenda, Dwarf Cars, Mini, Pure and Street Stock will compete along with the modifieds. Spectator Spec-tator prices are $8 for adults 13 and over, $4 for children five to age 12. Children age 5 and younger are free and seniors are $6. Concessions are available.
