Show A4 WrtwsdaY.MayKUOM .Vernal Express, Obituaries Dee Slaugh Dee Slaugh, age 80, of Grand Junction, Colo., passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at his home. Dee was born June 6, 1925 in Vernal to Frederick E. and Martha J. (Greenhow) Slaugh. He spent his childhood child-hood in Vernal, where he also graduated from high school Following graduation he joined the U.S. Army and served in World War n. He was stationed in Germany with the 59th Armored Infantry Division. After his discharge, he started his career in the oil fields. Dee worked for Loffland Brothers for 37 years, eventually becoming becom-ing a Drilling Superintendent On May 25, 1951 he married Barbara Littleton in Sidney, Neb. His work took he and his family all over the Western states. In 1985, Dee retired to travel with Barbara. Dee loved spending time with his family, enjoyed hunting hunt-ing and fishing and liked to tell tall tales. . Survivors include his wife, Barbara; two sons, Bob (Jonnie) Slaugh of Casper, Wyo.; and Lee (Kara) Slaugh of Farmington, N.M.; daughter, Patty (Dave) Racich of Pinedale, Wyo.; brothers, Clyde (Diane) Slaugh of Rangely, Colo.; Jim (Deanna) Slaugh of Vernal; sister, Faye (Don) Kendall of Afton, Lorene Cribbs Lorene Cribbs, age 73, of Farmington, N.M. left this world on May 4, 2006 to join her beloved husband, Bud Harvey Cribbs. Lorene was the youngest child of Minnie Addie Bigelow and Elmer "Jack" Fausett. She was raised in Vernal, Utah, and it was there that she met her husband and eternal companion, com-panion, Bud, while he was renting a room at her mother's boarding house. They married on July 13, 1947. They established then-family then-family home in Farmington, N.M. in 1956. It was there that they raised a family of nine children. Lorene spent her days caring for her children. She enjoyed gardening, and especially loved tending to her flower gardens. She also enjoyed embroidering and her close relationship with her large family. Lorene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, grand-mother, sister and friend. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. His brothers, Perry, LaDell and Lee Slaugh, preceded Dee in death. A visitation took place on Saturday, May 6, 2006 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary. The funeral was Monday, May 8 at 8:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Burial followed fol-lowed at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado at 10 a.m. Memorial contribu-' tions may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado, PO Box 60307, Grand Junction, Colo. 81506. Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, Bud H. Cribbs; great-grandson Vance Palmer; sister, Deon Merkley; brother, Neldon Reynolds;and her parents, Minnie Bigelow and Jack Fausett. She is survived by her loving lov-ing children, Jack and Elleny Cribbs, Ray Cribbs, Irene and Charles Cribbs, Clayton and Shonnie Cribbs, Eileen and Mike Holder, Aaron Cribbs, Collen and Al Nolan, Kristenen and Ed Fuller, and Kaylene .Cribbs,, She also leaves 26 grandchildren and 28 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren with three more on the way, and two sisters, Arloa Woodard and Valina Merkley. Visitation for Lorene was held Monday, May 8 at Brewer, Lee & Larkin Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services ser-vices were held Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Apache Street. He was born on July 15, 1941 in Clarksville, Ark. to August Fredrick and Emma Dale Priebe. He was raised in Price, Utah where he met and married his sweetheart, Sarah Anna Stansfield. They had 8 wonderful children. He enjoyed getting together with the kids, to go camping and for barbeques. They were his pride and joy. His favorite sports were hunting, fishing and camping. In the Elk division, divi-sion, he ranked high in the boon and crocket. He was a Uranium miner, and loved to go down to the mines to relive old memories. He also enjoyed raising his cows, after he retired. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Priebe, of Vernal; children, chil-dren, Paula (Bruce) Duncan of Neola; Laura (Syd) Richard, "August Eric (Velda) Priebe of Neola; Fred (Debbie) Priebe of Hancock Cove; Derwin (Jody) Priebe of Cedar View; Karen (Brian) Hill of Upalco; Kevin (Kayti) Priebe of Vernal; brother, Charles Priebe; sisters, sis-ters, Mildred Hanni of Vernal, Dorothy (Ron) Martin of Richfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Emma Priebe; brother-in-law, Lenard Lavar Stanfield; and granddaughter Vicki Priebe. He married Dorothy Harrison of Vernal, Aug. 27, 1945 in California. Bud passed away peacefully peaceful-ly at their home in Hesperia, Calif., of complications from pneumonia on May 6, 2006. He was a veteran of World War 2, serving in the Navy. Bud and Dorothy spent most of their married life in Ontario, Calif. Bud worked as a machinist machin-ist for many years there and raised their children there. After retiring Bud and Dorothy moved from Ontario to Hesperia, Calif, where they have lived for 23 years. Bud chose Vernal for his final resting rest-ing place where most of his wife Dorothy's family are buried. Bud is survived by his wife of60 years, Dorothy, and 5 children. chil-dren. Toleam more, caflUBH Wireless at 622-5007. Randy L. Goodrich Randy L. Goodrich, age 54 of Tridell, passed away quietly in his home with family after battling bat-tling cancer, on May 6, 2006. He was born on July 18, 1951 to Rae H. and Ruth Bowden Goodrich in Roosevelt, and raised in Tridell. He married Barbara Wilkerson, his high school sweetheart, on March 13, 1970 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Randy loved to fly! He earned his private pilot's license in 1968 before graduating from Union High School in 1969. He always had a smile and a joke to tell to get a laugh out of everyone. every-one. Most of all he loved spending spend-ing time with family and being grandpa to his three grandchildren. grandchil-dren. He worked for a short time with his uncle, Owen Goodrich on a potato farm in Washington, before he was drafted in the army in March of 1971. During part of his two years of service he and his wife were stationed in Athens, Greece. After returning return-ing home he worked in the automotive auto-motive field with his dad and at L&L Motor. He served in the scouting program and as ward clerk. He enjoyed working with the youth and wanted to be a positive influence on them. In 1979 he pursued his dream of working in aviation avia-tion and attended aero technicians techni-cians school in Rexburg, Idaho, where he received his A&P and LA licences. He then moved back to Tridell and started his own business, rebuilding fabric airplanes and engines, as well as overhauling and maintaining maintain-ing customer planes. He was well known throughout Canada and the U.S. for his mechanic skills and honesty. He recently worked a short time for Maxon Transportation and wished his health had allowed him to drive longer. In the summers of 2003 and 2004 he was asked to work at the remote, fly in, Tikchic Narrows Lodge in Alaska. He flew guests to and from the lodge and did general upkeep on their planes. Smuin Atwood. As a child her family moved around quite a bit but finally settled in Vernal. It was there she met and married Charles Murray and from this union she had three children, Calvin, Carl and Vonda. They lived in Denver and Texas. Rachel and Charles divorced and she moved back to Vernal where she married George Brough. They moved to Randlett, Utah where she spent many happy years on the ranch. George passed away and Rachel moved back to Vernal where she spent the rest of her life. Rachel was an active member mem-ber of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and held many positions. She was a member of the Daughter of Utah Pioneers. She worked outside the home as long as she was able and she always said her favorite people to work for were Dall Cook at his carpet store and Venil Johnson at Christensen's Dept Store. She is survived by her children, chil-dren, Calvin (Lola) Murray, Vonda (Billy) Quain; sister, Deon Price Brown; 9 grandchildren; grandchil-dren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 7 great- great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. neph-ews. She was preceded in death by son, Carl; granddaughter Kirri Lynn Blackshear, five brothers and four sisters. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening eve-ning from 6-8 p.m. and at the Mortuary one hour prior to the services. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, a special uncle, Owen Goodrich and most recently his cousin and friend, Bryce Goodrich. Funeral services will be held at the Lapoint LDS church on May 10, 2006 at 11 a.m. with a viewing beginning at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at the Tridell cemetery under the direction of Hullinger Mortuary. Randy was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed. Though gone he will never be forgotten. Fly me off to the wild blue yonder, my time has finally come. Petr was born Novermber 9, 1980 to Bill E. Brewer and Lea A. Harrisat Hill Air Force Base, UT. He married Jamie Brobeck May 20, 2005 in Ogden, Utah. William enjoyed fishing and camping with family, rock climbing, dirt biking and playing play-ing video games and Magic the Gathering. He was a member of the LDS church. He is survived by his wife Jamie; his daughter Alexis (Lexi); parents Lea and Bill; siblings Brekke Wiggill, Portland, Ore. and Alice Munday (Christopher) HAFB, Utah; grandparents Ronald and Marilyn Harris, of North Ogden; great-grandfather Lewis Myers, Ogden; mother-in-law Debbie Anderson, Vernal; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m., at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd. There will be a viewing prior to the services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Cremation under the direction direc-tion of Myers Mortuary, with burial at Evanston, Wyoming Cemetery at a later date.
