The Federal No. 13-1-9-17 is currently a producing Green River formation well. Newfield intends to converth the Federal 13-1-9-17 to an enhanced recovery injection well to support existing Green River Formation enhanced oil recover operations. The approved injection zone is the gross interval within the Green River Formation from 3658 feet to the top of the Wasatch Formation at approximately approxi-mately 5979 feet, which includes the Douglas Creek, Garden Gulch and Basal Carbonate Members of the Green River Formation. The injectate will be water from the Johnson Water District Reservoir. No water wells are present within one-quarter (14) mile of the Federal 13-1-9-17. Analysis of Garden Gulch-Douglas Creek Members water obtained from the Federal 13-1-9-17 treater shwos a total dissolved solids (TDS) value of 35,366 mg 1. The Johnson Water District Reservoir has a TDS content of 674 mg1. Cement records for this well do not show that adequate cement was placed in the Confining Zone of this well. Therefore, within 1 80 days after beginning injection, the permittee permit-tee will conduct a Part II (External) Mechanical Integrity test to confirm that the injectate will remain within the authorized autho-rized injection interval. A Draft Permit has been prepared in accordance accor-dance with provisions of the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) as amended amend-ed (42 USC et seq) and other lawful standards and regulations. The EPA has made a preliminary prelimi-nary determination that all underground sources of drinking water will be protected. The Permit will be issued for the life of the well unless modified modi-fied or terminated. This Permit, once issued, will authorize the conversion of a non-injection non-injection well or wells to an injection well and operation as an injection well. Operation of the well(s) will be governed by the requirements and conditions specified in the Permit. PUBLIC COMMENTS: The requirements and conditions of the Draft Permit are tentative, and are open to comment from any interested party. The proposed injection zone is within an established hydrocarbon hydrocar-bon producing interval that is not known to serve as a source of drinking water in this area. The approved injection zone for enhanced recovery recov-ery is the Green River Formation between the top of the Garden Gulch Member to the top of the Wasatch Formation, estimated at 6021 feet. Analysis of water from the proposed injection zone indicates the total dissolved solids concentration concen-tration is 44,070 mg1. There are no known surface sur-face folds or faults in the field. The proposed injectate is a blend of source water from the Johnson water district Reservoir with a TDS of 400 mg1 that may be blended with other produced water at the Monument Butte.
