NOTICE OF DECISION GRAZING ON THE MARSH PEAK AND LAKESHORE BASIN ALLOTMENTS USDA FOREST SERVICE ASHLEY NATIONAL FOREST VERNAL RANGER DISTRICT UINTAH COUNTY On December 4. 2000 District Ranger Brad Exton decided to continue contin-ue to permit managed livestock grazing on the Marsh Peak Allotment, and discontinue permitted livestock grazing on the Lakeshore Basin Allotment, both located on the Vernal Ranger District. This decision will be implemented in the 2001 grazing season. As a result of this decision, deci-sion, the boundary of the Marsh Peak Allotment will be adjusted by: closing clos-ing the Marsh Peak Unit to domestic sheep grazing in favor of Bighorn sheep habitat protection; removing the Split Creek subwatershed area; and adding the Dry Fork Ridge, presently included in the Vemal Municipal Watershed. In addition, a watering facility will be constructed on the Dry Fork Ridge. The Lakeshore Basin Allotment, vacant since 1989, will be converted to a creation livestock allotment allot-ment with no term grazing graz-ing permit issued. A portion por-tion of the existing allotment allot-ment will be fenced to exclude unauthorized grazing use by cattle from the neighboring Black Canyon Allotment, and the marsh Peak Unit and Split Creek subwatershed areas w ill be added to the Lakeshore Bain Allotment. This decision is subject to appeal pursuant to 36 CFR 215.7. A written Notice of Appeal must be postmarked within 45 days following publication publica-tion of this notice in the Vemal Express. Suite 700, Denver, Colorado 80202, regarding enhanced oil recovery injection operations so that Inland may continue to economically produce oil from their Monument Butte Field. The injection fluids will be a blend of Green River Formation brines produced in conjunction con-junction with the extraction extrac-tion of oil andor gas, and source water obtained from the Johnson Water District Reservoir. Inland is proposing to inject the blended fluid into the Balcron Monument Federal No. 31-5-9-17. NWNE Section 5 -T9S R17E. Duchesne County, Utah. EPA has made a preliminary prelim-inary detemiination that all underground sources of drinking water proximate proxi-mate to the proposed enhanced oil recovery well will be protected.
