Lettie is the daughter of Monty and Tena Williams of La Junta. Rudy is the son of Steve and Sherry Wells. The couple will have an open house after the wedding in La Junta and a reception in Provo on May 28 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m., at the Provo North 5th LDS Ward multipurpose multi-purpose room, 1 122 Grand Ave. The couple will make their home in La Junta, where they are both employed. With the Jordan World Circus performance headed to Utah, it's circus time again in Vernal, with all the thrills, chills, and excitement. The Hawthorn Asian female elephants ele-phants appearing in the Jordan World Circus are carefully trained. Spine tingling dander and excitement excite-ment are presented inside another one of Jordan World Circus' main attractions, the 'Globe of Death.' As the saying goes, "you've got to see it, to believe.it!" The 'Globe of Death' is a giant steel sphere made of open steel mesh in which two or more daredevil motorcyclists race around, up, down, and cross-ways with astonishing angles and speed. "You must respect your speed and path every second you are in the Globe,'' explains Jario Obando, head rider for the Jordan Danger Zone Riders. News from Whiterocks by Virginia Ferguson Haslem's celebrate twin grandchildren's birth SADD Awareness Week celebrated at Uintah The funeral of Lois Duncan Swain of Neola was held in the Neola church on Tuesday, May 4. Lois Swain had been born in Hayden, and lived all her life in the area. Friends and relatives from Vernal, Bountiful, Salt Lake, Provo, Orem, Pleasent Grove, Ogden, and Neola attended the funeral. Also on May 4, the Haslems daughter, Tammy, and her husband, of Salt Lake City, had twin babies. They weighed 4 lbs. and 1 1 oz. and 4 lbs. and 13 oz. Their names are Carson Scott and Cole Mitchell. The boys will be staying at the hospital hos-pital for observation for several days. Cleone Graves, Zella Pike and Ednal Simmons attended the Stage Light Dinner Theater last week on Friday, which was held at the USU in Roosevelt. Bucky Secakuku, Zella's grandson, danced and sang for the audience. Ray Edrington underwent six heart by-pass surgery on April 29 in Salt Lake at the LDS Hospital. His recovery was so successful, that Edrington returned to his home May 3 where he is now recuperating. recuperat-ing. John and LaRae Moosman have enjoyed a month's visit with their daughter, RaeAnn Crimson, and her son, Cydney. Her husband, Chad, had originally driven his family to Whiterocks, and then returned to Lakeside, Calif. On Saturday, he re turned to the Moosman 's to pick up his family. Frank and Lenda Arrowchis rode a Harley Davidson motorbike to Price for the weekend. They are attending at-tending the ABATE Annual Bike Show and run. Trade Pike spent last weekend with her parents. Cliff and Connie Pike. She is employed in Orem. The Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) club held its awareness week last week Monday, May 3, through Friday, May 7. The purpose in holding 'awareness week' was to help students realize the consequences that accompany destructive decisions. Monday a 'Chain of Life' was hung throughout the commons area, and students were let out of school at 2:30 p.m. to participate in the DUI 101 event. Tuesday lunch time activites in cluded: a hula hoop contest, membership mem-bership drive, and BYOB (Bring Your Own Banana). Wednesday lunch time activites inluded: a pie throwing contest, and membership drive. Thursday there were activities with Maeser Elementary, morning and afternoon sessions. Finally, Friday there were activities activi-ties with the Vernal Jr. High. There were announcements everyday, every-day, along with a trivia contest about destructive decisions.
