The groom is a 1995 graduate of From the trenches by Christie A. Hansen Let's make I read something recently that encouraged en-couraged couples to take a break from their standard dating routine. What dating routine? At our house dating isn't routine, it's a rarity. Realizing that we could both benefit ben-efit from some time away from the kids, my husband and I decided to make some changes. Although we're still not steady daters, the following fol-lowing strategies have allowed us to spend more time together. Funding. Let's face it, going on a date can be expensive. This used to be the number one reason why we stayed home. We said we wanted to go out, but only paid the idea lip service. Eventually we got desperate desper-ate and decided to put our money where our mouths are. We took a close look at our family finances and after cutting out something some-thing here, doing without another thing there, we had ourselves a date fund - a little money to use each month for dating. It's not for gas, not for clothing, just dating. Sitter Solutions. Our neighbors helped to get us dating again by asking us if we'd like to swap sitting. sit-ting. They went out the first Friday night while we watched their kids, and the next weekend it was our turn. We continued this for several months. I also know of another babysitting co-op with four couples in our neighborhood. Instead of swapping every other weekend, these couples watch all the kids every fourth weekend. Although one Friday night each month is probably chaotic, chaot-ic, the other three are rejuvenating. Dating Ideas. If you'd like to break the dinner and a movie rut, give these dating alternatives a try. C BED & BREAKFAST 288 E. 100 S.
