"I think our prospects are good again this year," Coach Putnam said. "Only one team member from last year graduated and I expect this team to do well." Putnam said that last year the Lady Utes tied with Union for first place in regional play. In postseason state tournament play, Putnam said that the Lady Utes lost the championship champi-onship in a heated overtime period. She said that the loss to Carbon was disappointing and stemmed from a missed free throw. "We're expecting a lot this year and have a hard preseason game schedule to look forward too," she noted. "And another thing, they all seem to have great attitudes," he added. The Ute's first game is scheduled for Dec. 2, against Carbon.
