February 12, 1997 13 Vernal 4-H welcomes Leadermete March 13-15 The 1997 Utah State Leadermete will be held March 13-15, in Vernal's Western Park. The Theme is "4-H...More Than You Ever Imagined." This Leadermete experience promises to maintain the tradition of excellence that has been established estab-lished for this annual event. There will be meaningful training, workshops work-shops and speakers; hundreds of new ideas; new places to visit and learn about, new friendships to make and lots of fun to be had, so come and learn how "4-H is More Than You Ever Imagined." Highlights of the Leadermete include: in-clude: Falcon's Ledge - Enjoy a European style meal in this unique lodge. After lunch enjoy a falconry demonstration, one of the oldest forms of hunting practiced by Medieval Kings of Europe. Petals, stones and dinosaur bones - visit Split Mountain Farm, a nursery of perennials, herbs and hardy roses; see the spectacular view of Split Mountain Gorge; visit Dinosaur National Monument. Ancient arts and new age technology tech-nology - Visit a bootmaking institute, insti-tute, saddle company and learn about and see some world renown Indian Petroglyphs. Museum tours - Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum; First ladies of the White House historical doll collection, at the Uintah County Library; Utah's Field House of Natural History State Park and Dinosaur Gardens; and Western Heritage Museum. Cross country ski trails. Character counts!, a character education program based on the "Six Pillars of Character" (Trustworthiness - respect - responsibility respon-sibility - fairness - caring - citizenship) citizen-ship) will be introduced and there will be several hands-on workshops sharing ideas for teaching these values val-ues to youth of all ages.
