Show T T Uintah School District announces school calendar It's back to school time! Uintah School District will start on Thursday, Aug. 26, announced District officials. Registration for all elementary, the Uintah Learning Center, and Vernal Middle School will be Aug. 12 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Vernal Junior High School will register reg-ister by mail. New students at the junior high will register Aug. 16 and 1 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m Vernal Express Wednesday, August 4, 1993 9 Crop report West Middle School and Ashley Valley High School will register Aug. 11 and 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. New students at Uintah High School will register Aug. 9 and 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the career center. Sophomores, juniors and seniors se-niors registration will be Aug. 11, 12, and 13 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. in the student common's area. There are no fees charged in the kindergarten through eighth grade. A yearbook may be purchased through the Vernal Middle School and West Middle School. Textbook rental at Vernal Junior High will be $35 with a refundable deposit of $10. Optional activity and yearbook fees of $15 will be offered. Students at Uintah Hich will be charged the same amount for textbook text-book rental and deposit An activity card can be purchased for $15 and a yearbook for $25. Driver's educa tion fees will be $20. There will be a late registration fee for UHS students stu-dents of $25. Additional fees may be charged at the secondary level for optional activities andor projects. pro-jects. School lunch fees will be $1.25 for elementary; $1.50, secondary; and $2.25 for adults. Breakfast fees will be $.30 for reduced; $.50 for students; and $.75 for adults. Starting times will be the same as last year in all schools with the exception ex-ception of West Middle School which will begin at 8 a.m. and end at 2:35 p.m. For more information on District schedule, call the School District office at 789-0020. According to the Utah Agricultural Statistics Service, there were 6.3 days rated suitable for field work during the week ending August 1. Soil moisture was 65 percent per-cent short, 34 percent adequate, and 1 percent surplus. Irrigation water supply was 8 percent per-cent short, 89 percent adequate, and 3 percent surplus.
