Seminar to reveal scientific support for Genesis The Vernal Ministerial Association in conjunction with the Alpha Omega Institute is sponsoring sponsor-ing a "Genesis Reclaimed" Seminar. Dave and Mary Jo Nutting, who hold degrees in mathematics, geology geolo-gy and biology and have taught high school and college, will be the presenters. pre-senters. The Nuttings were trained in evolution evo-lution through careful study of scientific sci-entific issues and arc convinced of the truth of creation and the historical histori-cal accuracy of the Book of Genesis. They understand how evolutionary evo-lutionary indoctrination can undermine under-mine acceptance and application of the Bible in society. The seminar is intended to help families understand that the basis of all Christian doctrine is found in Genesis, learn to recognize evolution's evolu-tion's bias and assumptions and be armed with scientific evidence which supports Genesis. The seminar begins Saturday, Nov. 21, at 9 a.m. in the Western Park Conference Center. There is no charge for admission, but persons will be given an opportunity to donate. do-nate. It's our way of saying, "Thank you for helping those in need." rJF'A w 4 Brother Matthews, Please explain the phrase, 'Tray without ceasing" (1 Thess 5:17). To "pray without ceasing," means to engage regularly in prayer. The words "without ceasing," translate the Greek adverb ADIALEIPTOS, which means, "constantly," "unceasingly." Paul uses this word in 1 Thess 2:13, in the sentence, "For this cause also thank we God without ceasing." By this, of course, he did not mean he was engaged every moment in prayer to God (when would he have preached the Gospel?), but that he regularly included the matter about which he wrote in his prayers. The disciples "were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God" (Luke 24:53), but this does not mean that they engaged in these activities twenty-four hours a day. What is meant is that they went regularly to the temple and participated in the morning and evening sacrifices, and offered their devotions at stated intervals. Because of our own weakness and infirmities, and God's power and goodness, a spirit of prayer and devotion should be so cultivated and maintained in the Christian's heart that every breath he draws is fragrant with the odor of prayer. We must be on our guard that the occasion for prayer does not escape us, and we must take care not to be wearied with this incessant reference of everything to God (cf. Luke 18:1; Rom 12:12; Col 4:2). Please, search the Scriptures and see whether these things are so (Acts 17:11). Send all questions or comments to: P.O.
