He was born to Bill Serrano and Rclva Cook on October 4, 1945 in Vernal. He married mar-ried Hclcnc Crcghan on March 16, 1988. He worked in the oil field. He was a member of Davis Fourth Ward. Gary enjoyed fishing and working on cars and also spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Hclcnc, sons and daughters, Trcna Castillo, Tony Serrano both of Layton: LaRcnda Serrano of Payson; Gary ami Kody Serrano, mother and father, brother and sisters, sis-ters, Weston, Douglas and Lonnic Serrano, Mrs. Larcc Brewer and Dcbra Fulkerson all of Vernal. Samuels, 57, passed away July 9 at St. Mark's Hospital. He was born September 27, 1931 to Lorenzo Snow Samuels and Carrie Wilda Timothy in Vernal. He married mar-ried Marva Jackson, later they were divorced. He worked in construction and specializing in lathing for many years. He served in the Coast Guard during the Korean War. He was a member of the Lathers Union for many years and was a Lather in Garden Grove, Calif. At the present time Tom was working on Reed Taylor Ranch in Hyattvillc, Wyo. He is survived by his sons, Russcl T. Samuels of Dublin, Calif.; Thad J. Samuels of Desert Hot Spring, Calif, and Dan R. Samuels of Yucca Valley, Calif.; three grandchildren; mother, WilJa Samuels of Vernal, one brother and ilircc sisters, Mrs. Elaine (Reed) Taylor of Cody, Wyo.; Mrs. Evan (Rcncc) Murray of llutb. He was born to Samuel Joseph Hatch and Ivie Sarah Tccples on May 6, 1909 in Vernal. He married Enid Ruth Williams on April 3, 1940. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on April 2, 1957. Boyd's father and his brothers were sheep men and they operated Samuel Hatch and Sons for a number num-ber of years. He was a carpenter and a building contractor. He helped build Geneva Steel Works, Flaming Gorge Dam, St. James Catholic Church and the Uintah County Hospital, he also built many of the public buildings in Dutch John. He retired from the U.S. Forest Service He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Boyd and his family served a mission in Whitcrotks, he served many years on the Boy Scout Troop Committees and was a High Priest in the Maeser Second Ward. She was bom November 3, 1897 to John Blankenship and Elizabeth Rebecca Snyder in Vernal. She married George Peter Roth on Dec. 2, 1921 in Salt Lake City, he died Oct. 13, 1978. Mary was a former co-owner of Fashion Cleaners in Vernal. She was actively involved in many organizations organiza-tions in the community which included: in-cluded: a charter member of Kingsbury Community Church, a member of Eastern Star, a member of Ladies Lions Club and a member of the O.T. Bridge Club. Mary enjoyed en-joyed camping and also picking and drying flowers and making pretty arrangements. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Shirley D. (Bene) Cook of Vernal; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 13 at II a.m. at the Kingsbury Community Church. Friends may all Thomson's Vernal Mortuary Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9;30 to ia.30a.rn. Burial will be in the R$xk Point Cemetery under the direction of Thomson' Vcrrul Mortuary. He was born October 4, 1922 in Blue Bell, Utah to Charles and Rhoda Knight Merrill, the eighth of 12 children. He married Donna Marie Hatch on June 16, 1948. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple. Frank's life was devoted to service. ser-vice. He served his country from 1941 to 1945 in Bismark Archipelago Luzon and the Philipian Islands during World War II. He won the American Defense Service Award, the Good Conduct Medal, the Philipian Liberation Award, two bronze stars and the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal. He was a member of the LDS church and served in the Bishopric. In addition, he has also served as a High Priest and as a clerk and home teacher. He retired from Frontier Airlines. Frank never missed an opportunity opportuni-ty to help anyone in need. He was a man who could see beauty in the earth and had a deep love for all creatures. His friends and family will remember him for his hard work and honesty. Frank was also a wonderful father and devoted husband. hus-band. He is survived by his wife, Donna; two sons, Randall J. and Brent Wayne of Salt Lake City; two daughters, Mrs. Lane (Nancy) Hadlock, Vcmal and Mrs. Dare 11 (Susan) Ilawkins of Salt Lake City. Prelude and postlude music was played by Mary Preece. Family prayer was offered by Jack Seitz. Opening prayer was given by Barney Sessions. A musical number, num-ber, "These Hands" was sung by Daun DcJourncttc, accompanied by Wcldon Bastian. Bert L. Angus spoke, followed by a musical number, num-ber, "Somewhere My Love" sung by Jan King, accompanied by Laura Hacking. Remarks and tribute were read by Jack Seitz. "Beyond The Sunset-was Sunset-was sung by Wayne Hall. Bishop Leo Jorgcnson offered the closing prayer. Pallbearers were: Randy J., Brent Wayne, Quinn, Earnest, Elwin, Earl and Grant Merrill and Darcll Hawkins. Dedicatory prayer was offered of-fered by Leo Crofts.
