Show A day in the life of a deer hunter 2:00 a.m. Alarm rings 3:00 a.m. Hunting partners arrive, drag you out of bed. 3: 30 a.m. Throw everything except the kitchen sink in the pickup. 4:00 a.m. Leave for mountains. 4: 15 a.m. Return home to pick up gun. . 5:30 a.m. Arrive at campsite. 5:45 a.m. Hear deer all around. Decide to skip setting up tent. Head for favorite hunting spot. 6:00 a.m. Reach favorite hunting spot. Get Settled. Start to shiver. 6: 15 a.m. See faint outline of deer in valley. 6:16 a.m. Load gun. 6: 18 a.m. Shivering so badly can't fire gun. 6:19 a.m. Hunting partner arrives in valley. Shoots deer. 6:25 a.m. Help partner haul deer back to camp. 7:00 a.m. Arrive at camp. 9:00 a.m. Hike about ten miles. See lots of hunters. No deer. 10:00 a.m. Hike another ten miles. No hunters. No deer. Head back to camp. 11:00 a.m. Still looking for camp. 12 noon Realize you don't know where camp is. 2:00 p.m. Fire gun for help. 2:30 p.m. Run out of bullets. 2:35 p.m. See eight deer. Six are bucks. One a five-pointer. 2:45 p.m. Hunting partner arrives. Shoots five-pointer. 3:00 p.m. Help hunting partner haul deer back to camp. 3:30 p.m. Arrive back at camp. See deer. 3:35 p.m. Shoot. Miss. One dead pickup. 4:00 p.m. Another hunting partner returns to camp with deer. 4:01 p.m. Repress strong desire to shoot hunting partners. 4: 10 p.m. Help hunting partner clean and hang deer. 4:45 p.m. Leave camp to kill deer or else. 4:50 p.m. Return to camp for bullets. 5:00 p.m. Load gun. Leave camp again. 6:00 p.m. Empty gun on a squirrel that is bugging you. 6 : 30 p.m . Return to camp. Last hunting partner is hanging up deer. 6:45 p.m. Take pickup for one last desperate try. 7:00 p.m. Pickup boils over. Hole shot in block. 7:15 p.m. Start walking. Starts to rain. 7:20 p.m. Stumble and fall, drop gun in mud. 7:30 p.m. Meet bear. 7:31 p.m. Take aim. 7:32 p.m. Fire gun. Blow up barrel plugged with mud. 7:45 p.m. Climb tree. Midnight: Bear departs. 5:00 a.m. Finally arrive back home. Can hardly wait until next day off work so can go hunting again. Aft mill, that's the day you are going to get that big one!
