' f -n IT"'- 'v v 1 ' Teresa Ann Tullis and Carl Sillitoe Tullis & Sillitoe to take vows in LDS Temple Teresa Ann Tullis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Tullis of Vernal, will become the bride of Carl Sillitoe, son of Mr and Mrs. Wayne Sillitoe of Henderson, Nevada on June 5. The wedding will take place in the St. George LDS Temple with a reception recep-tion to follow June 7 at the Vernal 5th Ward. The couple will be further honored at an open house in Henderson, Hender-son, Nevada June 21. The bride-to-be is a 1984 graduate of Uintah High School. She will graduate from Weber State College (Southern Utah Campus) with an Associate Nursing degree May 30. Carl has served an LDS mission in Little Rock, Ark. He graduated from Southern Utah State College with a BS degree in business. He is presently present-ly a firefighter for the Henderson City Ci-ty Fire Department. It was the last monthly meeting of the year. A short business meeting was conducted con-ducted by the new president, Kathy Brewer. All the new officers for 1986-87 were present: Helen Dear-man, Dear-man, vice president; Jeanette Dear-man, Dear-man, recording secretary; Dorothy Coldthorp, corresponding secretary; Barbara Brewer, treasurer and Marilyn Gragert, extension officer. Visiting was Cathy Parker of Beta Nu. An installation of the new officers took place which was followed by a ritual progressing Margaret Pilcher and Marilyn Gragert from Ritual of Jewels degree to Exemplar degree. After a pot luck supper the women revealed their secret sisters and drew names for the coming year. The evening ended with everyone joining in the Closing Ritual and joining hands for the Mizpah. Margaret Pilcher won a friendship plant as a door prize. Gamma Beta Gamma Beta Sorority met for their second meeting of the month May 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Paula Frost. Eleven members were present. pre-sent. Plans for the upcoming year were discussed and the final arrangements ar-rangements were made for a car wash to be June 14. A pot luck dinner was shared and refreshments were served. The door prize was won by Pam Gardiner. The next birthday luncheon will be June 3. Preceptor Pi The end of the year party for Preceptor Pi chapter was Wednesday, Wednes-day, May 21 at the home of Jean Riddle. Rid-dle. President-elect Kathy Ingram presided. Opening Ritual was repeated and roll call showed ten members present. pre-sent. The committees for the coming year were announced. Awards and gifts were presented to the members by out-going president Juanita Oden. The Closing Ritual was repeated then all joined hands for the Mizpah. The remainder of the evening was spent revealing secret sisters and exchanging ex-changing gifts: New secret sisters were chosen. Refreshments were served by the hostess. First tribute picture placed by Lady Lions The first picture of a woman recognized for her service to the community was hung on the wall in the "Tribute Hall to Women for Community Com-munity Service" on the main floor of the new State-County Building on Wednesday, May 21 by Vernal Lady Lions. The hallway was set aside and dedicated for the purpose of honoring local women who have gone the extra mile to serve in the community. The recognition idea was picked and instigated in-stigated as a service project of the Lady Lions. Marguerite Colton was chosen as the first woman to be so honored and she was on hand to see her picture and a plaque placed in the hall. "We hope to fill this hallway with pictures of women who have done outstanding things in the community," said Alta Winward, a member of the Lady Lions. Robbie Lamb gets scholarship The Stevens-Henager College of Business has awarded Uintah High School senior Robbie Dee Lamb, a $600 Outstanding Business Student Scholarship. Robbie is one of 33 scholarship recipients reci-pients from throughout the state who will attend Steven-Henager's campus in Provo and Ogden. These students will begin their selected programs this summer and fall. Scholarships were awarded on the basis of applicants' ap-plicants' school and community involvement, in-volvement, in addition to their high school grade point average. "These students represent a select group of high school students who have excelled in academics, leadership leader-ship and community service," stated Jim O'Connor, director of admissions. admis-sions. "We congratulate these students for their outstanding achievements." "I have been told that Sevens-Henager Sevens-Henager has a great business program, pro-gram, and a small studentbody from which I feel I can benefit," Robbie said. He currently serves on the newspaper staff at Uintah High. Robbie Rob-bie is also first counselor in his Priest Quorum for the LDS Church. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Lamb.
