( .!. tlah Obituaries 4 Ruby Greenhow Ruby Greenhow dies at age 65 Ruby Kathcrine Cook Crandall Greenhow, 65, of Vernal died at Ashley Valley Medical Center Feb. 27,1985. Born Dec. 13, 1919 in Vernal, she was the daughter of Robert and Rosie May Slaugh Cook. She married Harold Crandall, Feb. 29. 1940. They were later divorced. She married Thomas William Greenhow, May 12, 1953 in Rangely, Colo. He died June 26. 1953. She lived In Rangely, Colo, for several years after her husband died In an automobile accident. She moved mov-ed to Vernal where she has lived since that lime. She was a member of the IDS Church In the Davis 4th Ward. Survivors are her son, Loyal William Greenhow; parents, all of Vernal; brothers and sisters, Lowell J. Cot of lYovo, Floyd Cook, Don H. This allowed Natalie to attend at-tend the National Range Management Society meeting held in Salt Lake City Ci-ty from Feb. 10 through Feb. 14. Natalie is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bennett of Manila and Mr. and Mrs. Steve Radosevich of Browns Park. Trade A. Lamb, daughter of Duane and WaNeta Lamb of Manila will be leaving Feb. 26 for South Korea. She will be working for the Korea Herald Language Training Center in Seoul teaching conversational English. Ms. Lamb received her BA degree from Weber State College, after which she served in the Germany Munich Mission Mis-sion for the LDS church. Last 1st Ward funeral for T. Mowrey Vernal 1st Ward services were Wednesday, Feb. 27, for Thelma Julia Hatch Mowrey, who died Feb. 24. The service was conducted by Randy Ran-dy Deets. Boyd Brinton gave the family prayer. Lawrence Wardle gave the invocation, invoca-tion, and Randy Deets gave the obituary and some remarks. Lorna Condon played a violin solo, "Whispering Hope." Len Gotfredson spoke. Jan King sang "Beautiful Land." Boyd Brinton spoke. Mrs. King sang "Going Home," and Jerry Huff gave the benediction. Prelude and postlude music was by Carma Hunsaker. Randlett man dies after slipping on ice A Randlett man died early Thursday of head Injuries he suffered when he apparently slipped on ice and hit the back of his head on a street curb, in Salt Lake City. Salt Lake Police U. Gene Young said Chris Carupe died at LDS Hospital of head Injuries shortly after the 1:40 a m. accident. Carupe, v.ho was Intoxicated at the lime, was standing on the southwest corner of Sixth South and West Temple Tem-ple v.hen he fell, Young said. There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding sur-rounding the death. December she received her MA degree from Arizona State University. She will be living with a Korean family fami-ly and will work in Korea for a year. Orvel Potter was honored on his 80th birthday with a dinner party at the Senior Citizen Center in Manila on Feb. 23. A book of his life was presented by his 8 daughters and 2 sons. It contained photos taken throughout his life, poems and letters of love composed especially for him. A ham and turkey dinner was served to 46 family members and friends. The center was decorated with banners and 80 balloons. Manila Mustangs defeated both of North Rich's teams at North Rich High School last week. Last Friday Manila High School played North Rich at North Rich. The junior varsity game seemed to go all Manila's way. "It was a super effort by the whole team," says Coach George Cannon. Manila JV defeated North Rich JV by a score of 73-29. The varsity game was a tough fought game. At the end of the first quarter of play the score was 12 to 12. After that, Manila built up a 12 point lead and held it for most of the game. The game was held together by the outstanding shooting of Donald Pallesen in the first half, but in the second se-cond half the team defense teamed up to convert steals into layups. Toward the end of the game, North Rich had to foul and Manila answered the call with great foul shooting at the line. The final score was Manila 69 and North Rich 62. Manila Women's Volleyball Tournament Tourna-ment was held Feb. 21-23 at the Manila High School gym. Referee for the tournament tour-nament was Vicki Shelton of Lyman, Wyo. The winning teams were first place, Behunin Ranch, second place Grubb's Cafe, third place Crossroads Delimart, consolation Rick's Body Shop and sportsmanship Steinaker Trucking. High point server for the tournament was Luann Guest.
