The Uintah County Commission announce an-nounce the appointment of Don Hatch, Hatch River Expeditions, and Roger Ford, First Security Bank manager, to fill the vacancies on the Dinosaurland Travel Board left by the resignation of two long-time members: Ted Hatch and Bill Gibson. Ted Hatch resigned due to his inability to make the meetings because of his river running business in Grand Canyon, and Bill Gibson was transferred to Provo. The Commissioners said they felt Hatch and Ford, with their interest in tourism and their background in business, are both well qualified to serve on the board. The Travel Board promotes tourism and conventions for Dinosaurland and is funded by the Transient Room Tax collected in Uintah Uin-tah and Daggett Counties. The Board is working with an anticipated budget of $109,000 for 1984. Other members of the Board are: Hal Duke, president; Rita Wetenkamp, vice president; John Beaslin, treasurer; Irvin Haws, Chuck Henderson, Mike Sullivan and Gary Hatch, all from Uintah County; and Levi Reed and Vance Grubb representing represen-ting Daggett County. Dwight Wetenkamp serves as the Board's executive ex-ecutive secretary. The Board retains the First Marketing Group, Salt Lake City, as its advertising agency. Wetenkamp reported that their advertising campaign cam-paign this year includes radio on the Wasatch Front, magazine and newspaper, travel shows, and familiarization tours for travel writers and travel agents. Wetenkamp says they have just finished producing a full-color film on Dinosaurland that they are using to promote conventions and bus tours. The 14-minute film is available to local clubs and groups at no charge, either on video tape or 16 mm film, he said. These can be reserved by calling the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce office. Wetenkamp cautioned people not to get the feeling that tourism is not being be-ing promoted because we see very little lit-tle of the advertising locally. It's hard to measure results of a campaign, but judging from the receipt of about 15,000 inquiries each year as a direct result of our advertising, we feel we are getting the visitors' attention, he said. Bloodmobile to be at armory The Red Cross Bloodmobile will be at the National Guard Armory, 500 East 200 South, Vernal, Monday, June 4 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Neil Deets, Red Cross Blood drive chairman said that during the past 2.5 years, the Vernal area has an average of 50 units of blood per drive. The average blood use of Vernal area residents is about 80 units of blood per year. To tap the Red Cross Blood Bank a person needs to tell the hospital, upon being admitted, that they would like to use Red Cross blood, Deets said. Persons 18 years old and older are eligible to donate blood. Eighteen year olds needs to have parental permission. 4 Bedroom Home on 7 acres.
