Playing against La Roca CS in the first game of gold-division play, Black Diamond couldn't find the back of the net, losing 3-0. But the local squad quickly regrouped, defeating Wyoming Youth Soccer 2-1 in its next game to advance to the tournament semifinals. In that game, against DC Lyons, Black Diamond had plenty of offense in a 4-2 victory to make it to the finals. In the final match, Black Diamond took a 1-0 lead over Murray Max Black TS. However, Murray quickly tied the score at 1. Then, Black Diamond scored again to make it 2-1. But, again, Murray had an answer, equalPlease see Black Diamond, B-6 Summit Challenge draws near Bicycle road ride to take place on Aug. 22 Submitted by National Ability Center This year's Summit Challenge is about two weeks away, and there's still time to register for individual and team rides. Sponsored by the National Ability Center, the 2015 Summit Challenge is Saturday, Aug. 22, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Summit Challenge is a bicycle road ride for people of all abilities. It offers three different course lengths: 102 miles, 52 miles and 18 miles. All rides start and end at the National Ability Local Park City news every Wednesday and Saturday Center, 1000 Ability Way, in Park City. Cyclists are fully supported throughout the rides as they pedal through the mountains and valleys in Wasatch and Summit counties. Every rider receives a gift bag, plus lunch and live entertainment at the Summit Challenge Event Village throughout the day. All proceeds from the event help support National Ability Center programs and services. Riding this year for the first time is Ride 2 Recovery, a groundbreaking veterans' program started in 2008 to help military personnel with injuries, post-traumatic stress and other issues face challenges by cycling. In 2012, R2R took 147 riders through Belgium and Luxembourg to ride the Battle of the Bulge Challenge in addition to Texas, Memorial and Golden State.
