Tennis is one of the topics addressed in an online poll posted by City Hall in an effort to gather opinions about the facility. Which programs are most popular, City Hall asks We've Got What You Knead By JAY HAMBURGER 60 The Park Record Are the tennis courts the draw at the Park City Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center? Or do people head to the Park Meadows facility for the weight room or one of the pools? Managers at the City Hallrun Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center are gathering opinions about a wide range of topics related to the facility itself or its programs. The Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center is one of the anchors of City Hall's popular recreation programs, alongside the municipal golf course and the Quinn's Junction recreation complex. The Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center managers are conducting a nonscientific survey intended to learn about the habits of the facility users. Ken Fisher, the recreation manager at City Hall and the staffer who oversees the Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center, said the results are important as improvements are considered and as a measure of customer service. The survey includes biographical questions like a person's age and their ZIP code while also asking about how someone learns about programs at the facility, what sort of pass they use there and the number of times someone uses the Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center each month. It asks people to rate the facility's customer service and which features someone uses. Some of the choices include the weight room, the bouldering wall, the pools, the indoor track and the tennis courts. Try A Kneaded Break The Basic Knead Very Kneady Thai! It also inquires about whether someone participates in fitness classes designed for groups and which classes. Choices include circuit training, yoga, Pilates tai chi and spinning. There are also questions about the tennis offerings at the Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center. The 22-question survey, meanwhile, includes a question about childcare services, one about the fitness area located upstairs at the facility and one centered on opinions about the instructors who teach classes. The Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center debuted in late 2011 after an extensive renovation of the building that was once known as the Racquet Club. The redone facility includes numerous upgrades from the Racquet Club, including new equipment and redesigned space. The renovation cost upward of $10.5 million, among City Hall's most expensive recreation projects. The Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center has received accolades since it opened as users see it as a major upgrade from the Racquet Club. Nearly all of the former facility was demolished as the new one was built. Fisher said the Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center is enjoying record numbers. The period between mid-2013 and mid-2014, City Hall's fiscal year, was a record for either the Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center or the Racquet Club, he said. "Business is way up," Fisher said. During the 12-month period starting in mid-2013, according to Fisher, more than 7,000 passes -- punch cards or monthly passes -- were sold to Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center users. In the 2009 fiscal year, 2,514 passes were sold at the Racquet Club. Fisher said 117 of the surPriscilla Blanchot Graphic Design veys had been completed by Knead A Massage midweek. 05.1The 6.13 survey is available on the City Hall website.
