At 8:50 a.m., the police were called to an undisclosed block number on Empire Avenue, where a person reported smelling ether. The person told the police there could be a methamphetamine lab in the building. The police said the circumstances were suspicious. On Friday, Aug. 3 at 9:37 p.m., a taxi was reportedly seen idling on the 100 block of Main Street. It was blocking traffic, the police were told. Four youngsters were reported to be on a balcony on the 700 block of Main Street throwing water on the crowd below. A small garbage fire was reported on the 400 block of Main Street at 7:47 p.m. It was extinguished, the police said. At 10:49 a.m., someone on Round Valley Drive reported being bitten by a dog. The bite did not break the skin and the person did not want medical treatment. The person might have been riding a bicycle and possibly bitten on the leg, according to police logs. The person did not want to press charges, the police said. Two thefts were reported somewhere along Norfolk Avenue at 10:33 a.m. One occurred the month before and involved a tool box being taken from a garage, the police said. The other one occurred on the day of the report and involved a digital camera that was missing from a kitchen. On Thursday, Aug. 2 at 3:32 p.m., someone reported losing a wallet on the 1300 block of Lowell Avenue. It had $120 in cash, a driver license from Washington state and credit cards inside, the police were told. A vehicle burglary was reported on Little Kate Road at 3:43 a.m. Public police logs did not provide details. On Wednesday, Aug. 1, the police received two reports of moose sightings within approximately three hours of each other on the 9100 block of Marsac Av- enue. The first one was reported at 5:46 p.m. and the second one was logged at 8:45 p.m. A bicycle was reported stolen at 4:31 p.m. somewhere along Empire Avenue. It was not locked and disappeared in the overnight hours. A vehicle burglary was reported along Main Street at 1:17 a.m. On Tuesday, July 31 at 7:31 p.m., a vehicle was reportedly broken into on Main Street. Public police logs did not provide details. A suspected drunken driving case was reported along Holiday Ranch Loop Road at 2:57 a.m. On Monday, July 30 at 6:42 a.m., someone reported hot air balloons close to Treasure Mountain Junior High. It was not clear from public police logs whether the balloons were flying or on the ground. Fall injures child at workout center By JAY HAMBURGER The Park Record A young Summit County girl suffered injuries in a fall at the Park City Municipal Athletic & Recreation Center on Sunday, the Park City Police Department said. She is 8 years old and fell between 10 and 12 feet, the police said in an online statement. The Park City Fire District treated the girl at the scene and then took her to the Park City Medical Center in an ambulance. Emergency responders were called to the facility at 3:05 p.m. The police said in a separate statement she might have suffered a neck injury. She was at the facility with her mother, according to the police.
