This race is designed to test participants' resilience, strength, stamina, and ability to laugh in the face of adversity; 15 obstacles over an 8-mile course. Cost is $10 for the kids' course, ages 5 to 13, which has kids scale down obstacles on its half-mile course. All kids-course proceeds go toward Rod Dixon's KiDSMARATHON Foundation, a nonprofit organization educating youth about exercise and nutrition. Lets get the word out and educate about healthy choices for kids, Registration is open for all participants: www.spartanrace.com HIP HOP HUSTLE Hip Hop Hustle for kids began June 16 at Silver Mountain Sports Club & Spa. The class, which combines e3syto-follow dance moves with highenergy music, is a fun way for kids ages 5 to 10 to get a great work out. This class will run Thursdays from 1 to 1 2 p.m., throughout the summer at the Kimball Junction location, 1525 Ute Blvd. The class is free for Silver Mountain Sports Club members; non-members are welcome with a day-use fee. SPARTAN RACE TRAINING The Sweat Shop and Parallel Yoga are the official Wasatch Back training facility for the Spartan Race to be held Saturday, July 9, at Soldier Hollow. Training events are every Saturday at City Park at 10 a.m. PARK CITY RECREATION SKATE COMP SERIES In October, there is the Western Zone Swimming Championships, where many of the Park City swimmers will look to place high. The meet will include swimmers from every Western state, including Hawaii and Alaska. "We have a good group of kids looking to leave with some titles," he said. Werner also said the club will be hosting a fundraiser today to help purchase new equipment and club apparel. He said the club is trying to establish itself as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. He said team members sponsored by donors will swim lengths at the Ecker Hill Aquatic Center from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. tonight.
