"I'm gong to read from the book, which I love doing, and I'm going to talk about the process of how it came about," Durrow said. "I'm also going to talk about my own obsessions around the issues and themes that are in the book. These are not just about multi-racial and multi-cultural identities, but also about the aspects about coming into one's own as a person. We're all labeled young and forge our identities with, or against, that label." Durrow will also talk about the important role art plays in society. "I will discuss coming into one's own as artist and the responsibility we have when we put art into the world," she said.
