Many athletes cultivated from within the ranks of the state's high school rodeo association have gone on to compete successfully at the professional level, including two-time world bull riding champion Wesley Silcox, of Payson. Silcox won the Utah state bull riding title during his senior year in 2002 and finished fourth overall in the National High School Finals Rodeo that year.
