Nightly Average: 6,403 Year-To-Date: 1,545,947 By DAN BISCHOFF Of the Record staff When Booster Juice opened its second store on Bonanza Drive a week ago, it didn't have to wait long for customers. "They were knocking on the door trying to get in before we opened," said Marilyn Darby, part owner of Booster Juice. Booster Juice is a family business owned by Darby, her mother Betty Manwill and her daughter Sara Davis. They opened their first store at Quarry Village in 2005. After two years of success, they decided to expand. "We wanted to get closer to downtown. We finally found a spot and found out that it was the original Zuka Juice," Darby said. Darby said customers who went to Quarry kept asking them to move downtown. "The customer requests, from hotels and residents, they kept asking us to come closer," Darby said. "They said, 'If we were here, they'd be here everyday.'" So far, their fans have kept their promise. "At high school lunchtime, we watch them walk in masses across the street coming here," Darby said, pointing toward the crosswalk at Kearns and Bonanza. "It's so busy already, it's a great thing." Davis said it took a while to get the store at Quarry to become successful. Now, she* claims, it's the busiest store in the Pinebrook area. One might think by adding another smoothie store in Park City, they might be competing against themselves, but that's not the case. "Our numbers have not dropped since we opened the store," Darby said. "Pinebrook, Jeremy Ranch is still strong, we've even had more customers." "Some people hit Booster Juice in Quarry Village in the morning and then come to us here in the afternoon for lunch." Davis added.
