(Owner/Agent) Scott GRAYSON WEST/PARK RECORD A bicyclist Friday afternoon tests a new surface on Park Avenue after crews put down a coat of slurry seal, part of City Hall's ongoing efforts to prolong the lifespan of Park City's streets. Pace Erickson, who is managing the work for the Public Works Department, says streets in Park Meadows, Prospector, Deer Valley and Old Town received about 70,000 square yards of slurry seal in 2006. He expects the work to be finished on Wednesday. He says that slurry seal protects the pavement from damage from sunlight and seals cracks. The pavement underneath lasts another three to five years if the slurry seal is applied. City Hall applies the sealant to selected streets each year. e "Local's Glub"'.-at ermatt Resort 8 Vehicle and office broken into A police officer was unable to locate the vehicle involved. for repairs but refused to return The Park City Fire District, it afterward, the police were told. which handles hazardous-materiThe Police Department classified al spills, responded with the the case as a misdemeanor theft, police. valued at between $50 and $200.
