By PAULCHALUS News Editor BOUNTIFUL The City Council voted to retain the circuit court system as operated by the state at least until Jan. 1, 1994, following the recommendation of the full-time city staff. City Manager Tom Hardy told the council that the state has given individual cities the opportunity to take over the justice court system on the circuit court level. "Most cities are not opting to take over the control of the circuit courts in Utah," Hardy said. "Most are leaving it with the state to handle it." The Utah Legislature has ruled that the circuit court justice system will be eliminated by the year 1998, Hardy added. "I can see some advantages ad-vantages of running the courts with local judges, but those advantages appear to be very small for most cities." Hardy said Bountiful will have the option of taking over the circuit court system every two years until |
