Show Braves slip pasi Bulldogs BOUNTIFUL Bountiful extended its region record to 9-1-2 Friday night slipping past the improved Judge Memorial Bulldogs 2-1. Though Braves coach Dave Wigham was not happy with his team's performance, "a 2-1 win is as good as an 8-1 win,' the veteran vet-eran Bountiful coach said. "We played terrible. I really don't know what the problem is at times, but we'd better find out quick." Bountiful logged its first goal with the help of a 'Dog defenseman who, responding to the Braves' offensive pressure, tipped the goal , into the net. ' r '.i Leading 1-0, the Braves then relied on sure-footed Jason Haslam to extend the Bountiful lead to 2-0 on a 30-yard bullet that shot past the Judge goalie, deflected off the left upright and into the goal Judge's only goal against the Braves came with just over 10 minutes remaining on an unopposed penalty kick. "Mentally, we weren't prepared for this game. We beat each of the three teams we played this week easily the first time around and expected to beat Judge easily. We made some mental errors. "The effort is there, and that's all I can ask of the kids," Wigham said. "Judge is a young team, and they've gotten better." The Braves are gearing up for a rematch with first place Woods Cross Tuesday afternoon. Bountiful handed the undefeated Wildcats their only tie in league play.
