Show Joe Austin Davis BOUNTIFUL Joe Austin Davis died May 26, 1992 in Bakersfield Calif. He was bom both football and basketball. He was a 3-year letterman at the University Uni-versity of Southern California and played pro-football for Brooklyn and San Francisco. He was also a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran. In 1946 he moved to Bakersfield and married Betty Jean Curran, whom he later divorced. He married Mary Colfax. He was an active real estate agent. He joined the Kern County Recreation Department in 1956 and was the director when he retired. Joe is survived by his wife, Mary, of Bakersfield, Calif.; his children: Reid C. Davis, Salt Lake City; Sara Davis and Carolyn D. Southard, Bakersfield; his stepchildren: Cheryl Karleskint and Stever Bar-rera. Bar-rera. Also survived by two grandchildren, grand-children, five step-grandchildren and two sisters, Jane D. Andreason and Ann D. Park, Salt Lake City. He is preceded in death by parents and brother Burt H. Davis. Nov. 20, 1919 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Daka and Sarah Holbrook Davis. He was raised in Bountiful, Utah.
