One of the most cavalier replies ever heard on this University came from the fellow in Parking Services, who told a student who unknowinglv accumulated four tickets because they were stolen, "That's just tuff luck. Just pay the extra difference and then we'll talk about whether it's justified." This guy was only born 300 years too late for the Inquisition. One frustration of the multi-versity became apparent as students picked up their all-new computerized schedules yesterday.. .there's no one to complain to, and no one in the Park Building accepts any responsibility for the goofs. Hundreds of students had inexplicable foul-ups. foul-ups. Where was the registrar? In his office in Research Park. The Chronicle wishes to retract one clause in the editorial concerning con-cerning Nevin Limburg published Nov. 27. The clause reading "...Lim-burg "...Lim-burg would make sure that Finance Board did not file a complaint with the Student Judiciary Committee,..." should read "...Limburg would make sure that he did not have any trouble with Finance Board in the future,...". We regret any discomfort which came to Limburg as a result of the first clause. The viewer misapprehended the note, and was informed in-formed of the correct reading by the recipient, Chad Dobson. Penrose Drive was, inevitably, back in the news again this week. Seems the Federal Heights Association wants to close Federal Way as well as Penrose, and solve the University traffic problem by funneling another 5000 cars per day onto First South. City Finance Commissioner Jennings Phillips was quick to get on the bandwagon he thinks the plan "possibly has great merit and will be taken under further consideration." Now maybe we can get First South closed too, and move all the traffic to a really big street like Fifth South. Or Interstate 80. |
