Show Airport parking In their meeting last Thursday, the ASUU Executive Council unanimously supported the parking proposal which would turn the Union parking lot into an airport styled pay lot after 12 p.m. The council has recommended that Traffic Planning Committee pass and implement the system beginning begin-ning spring quarter. , . Without further comment, the committee and the administration admini-stration should heed the voice of not only the students, but also the Union visitor in implementing a better parking system for the Union parking lot. The new proposal seems fair to all groups concerned. Students would have use of it as they do not until noon when half of the present area would be converted into the airport styled pay lot. However, it needs to be pointed out that students and faculty can use this lot as well as guests, and that half of this converted space will be the metered area. The proposal would also recreate 45 new metered spaces directly in front of the Union. While these spaces will be limited to 36-minute meter use, it will help alliviate the problem by creating more spaces. We hope that the commit- tee will vote for the proposal, and implement it beginning spring quarter. |
