Show Art students offered tour Art students from the University and Utah State University will join again to spend spring quarter in Mexico. Although final plans have not been completed, the art departments ot the sister institutions will send 15 students from each school to San Miguel de Allende from late March to mid-June 1971 Announcement was made Tuesday by Angelo Caravaglia, associate professor of art at the U, and Marion R. Hyde, art instructor at USU who will serve as coordinators of the travel study program. Need Extra Time "Most students will need between-quarter time to make arrangements for the tour," they said. "A trip to Mexico would make a fantastic Christmas present for any art student." Courses will be tuaght in painting, drawing and design, the coordinators said. Credit can be arranged through either school. As in previous years, students will live in an art colony in the Mexican town where they will be taught by American and Mexican faculty. They also will take side trips for study and recreation. Cost May Be $825 Cost of the trip has been set tentatively at $825, which will include all expenses except strictly personal items such as souvenirs, laundry, etc. The trip is one of seven or eight travel study programs offered through the Divisions of International Education and Continuing Education. "We urge early reservations," Prof. Caravaglia said. "The University Choir tour to Europe filled up within about two weeks after the first announcement. We expect this one to prove equally attractive." |
