''' Off to a running start already this season, the cross-country team takes on Utah State University Univer-sity in a dual meet Saturday. The meet will be held on the Ute campus and will be run on a five mile course set up around the golf course. So far this season the Redskin runners have participated in two meets. In the first meet against Idaho State University the Utes didn't fare too well, losing to the Bengals 36-26. Utah ace Scott Bringhurst, however, seemed to have gained his pre-mission form by capturing first place. Utah then went to Oregon to run in a seven school inter-sectional inter-sectional meet against some of the best runners in the west. The Utes put in a surprise finish, walking off with second place. Bringhurst was again the top finisher for Utah, placing third. The Western Athletic Conference Con-ference (WAC) Cross Country meet will be held Nov. 14 on the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso. According to Ute cross country coach Pete Carlston, the Miners are the favorites to walk off with the crown. Last year UTEP won the WAC championship champion-ship and went on to capture the national crown as well. Coach Carlston cites the conference con-ference as one of the toughest in the country in cross country. Stating that there is "an over- |
