"I was looking for a ten year crusade," said George S. Odiorne recently appointed dean of the College Col-lege of Business at the University of Utah. "Utah offers lots of opportunity. op-portunity. Educated Edu-cated people are economic assets. They can generate new ideas into assets and further economic development. de-velopment. "They too have developed ! objectives they wish to achieve, their ideas have been accepted, and they are in the process of making the College of Business better through change. Improving the University Dr. Odiorne's personal theory of how to improve the University in general is based on decentralization. decentral-ization. "Big universities should be 'broken up into smaller units. There should be more decentralization. decentral-ization. Students are even becoming becom-ing aware that big universities are unmanageable, impersonal and soulless." Dr. Odiorne feels that decisionmaking decision-making power should be developed devel-oped at the lowest possible level.
