Show Walkway links entire campus A new walkway is presently unto un-to construction which will link Milton Bennion Hall, the Annex, the dormitories and the Sports and Special Events Center with the rest of the campus. J. Robert Rob-ert Folsom, assistant director of Planning and construction for the University, said the walkway is Part of a $750,000 project to create a pedestrian-oriented campus with only peripheral roads and parking. park-ing. In spite of the fact that many former parking places have been closed for construction purposes, the plan will ultimately provide a heater parking area. The Union Parking lot will become a "dead end" lot accessable only by Federal Fed-eral Way. Plans include paving the Annex lot and a new lot behind MBH, possibly by fall. Fifteenth East will be closed during fall quarter, and construction construc-tion will begin on a major walkway walk-way in place. The old Traffic Pulsion and ROTC building will " torn down to make way for a Parking lot between the Chemistry Gliding and Ute Stadium. Construction plans also include jj completion of the Fine Arts Building by the first of the year, and the Behavioral Science Build-by Build-by 1971. . |
