Debbie Powell and Jolene Edmunds, AWS officers, publicize the upcoming event which will highlight womens fashion. AWS seeks 10 coeds for honors as outstanding college girls Applicants will model three outfits. "The clothes should be typical of the girls usual wardrobe. They should not be borrowed from friends, or purchased especially for the fashion show," said Miss Myntti. "Judges are all connected with the University either as a member of the faculty or the administration." Any fully matriculated coed with a 2.0 gpa is eligible. Applications will be judged first on leadership. Semi-finalists will appear at a judging tea on Jan. 23. They will talk with the judges and the finalist will b chosen on personality and poise. The finals will be a fashion show to be held Jan. 27 in the Union Ballroom at 8 D.m. ..n-aimn.m mm ' ... .w.'tmi -m I Applications for the Glamour top ten college girls in America contest, sponsored by AWS, will be due on Jan. 21 at 5 p.m. in the Student Activities Center. Cyndi Myntti, chairman of the event said, "This is the first year that the University has participated in the Glamour contest. We encourage all women o participate. Group sponsorship s not necessary." According to Glamour rules, fne applicant will be judged on her lnd'vidual thinking - in her fPProach to fashion and it's role ln her life. She should be l-groomed and have a good figure. In addition to fashion sense, Woniour is looking for an outstanding leader, initiator, or Clever on the campus or in the community, excelling in the arts, nlv"' sPrts business or Politics. |
