A competition will be held for the displays and awards will be given Saturday night at the dance. Displays will emphasize the theme. House decorations will also be on display Thursday evening. Both displays and house decorations will be judged on originality, uniqueness, use of theme, appearance and artistic qualities. Houses will be judged Saturday morning during the Ute Cavalcade, which last year replaced the Homecoming Parade. The Cavalcade consists of an automobile tour of the sights of the campus including house decorations. Campus Tours The newest additions to the campus will be featured in the campus tours beginning at 10 a.m. at the Union. On foot, visitors will include the Library, Physics bldg., Biological Sciences and Alumni House. Guests and distinguished alums will lunch at the Union Main Ballroom at 11:30 a.m. From there, the dignitaries and rest of the alumni will attend the Utah-BYU game. During half-time, Queen Maurine Jensen and her attendants will be presented along with other halftime activities. Jazz At Dance Completing the evening, Gerald Wilson, jazz bandleader, will play for the Homecoming dance starting at 8 p.m. in the Union Ballroom. During the evening, the queen will once aga.n be presented and awardsg'will be presented including the swpstak trophy, for all around participation in the week s activities. |
