Show ResidenceHall Groups Attend Staff Training Next year's prospective Residence Resid-ence Hall's staff are studying every Monday for two hours in their annual an-nual Staff Training. The eight week training session will culminate May 30 when the final staff selections for next year are announced. About 40 returning staff applicants applic-ants and 47 new applicants meet each Monday evening at the Union or Central Hall and participate in such training devices as role plays, group exercises and of course the omnipresent lecture. About 15 more prospective staff members are participating in the training session than will be on the staff next year thus the final staff selection selec-tion is postponed until near the end of training allowing better selection se-lection because of the increased selectee scrutiny. Some criteria for staff selection are interest, involvement, in-volvement, ability to apply staff philosophy to practical problems and, especially, past behavior in the dorm. Staff members gain personal satisfaction sat-isfaction from their jobs as well as compensation. Student advisors receive re-ceive board for the school year, Assistant As-sistant Head Residents receive board, room and $100 per quarter. |
