Show i$ f ' - it" Navy Naiads Membership Drive Sails Set For Naiad's Tea Naiads, the social organization on campus sponsored by the Navy is not a military group! Members of the Naiads don't hold any rank with a military connotation. con-notation. They aren't even allowed to march. When asked why the Naiads operate under such a system, sys-tem, Lieutenant Ray McMillan, advisor ad-visor of the Naiads replied, "It's because we prefer them to remain girls. They do wear uniforms, however, how-ever, and this definately sets them apart as Naiads." The Naiads will hold a tea from 3:30 Tuesday to 5:00 p.m. in the Union Den to give those girls who are interested a chance to fill out applications, receive appointments for interviews and generally learn about the program, it's functions, and it's purposes. Interviews, which will be conducted con-ducted by Lieutenant McMillan, two Midshipmen, and three current Naiads will attempt to learn not only of the poise and social acceptability accept-ability of the candidate, but will also try to determine the sincerety and willingness of the hopeful to actively participate in the program once she has been accepted. |
