Show Cross Country Team Second in Tri-Meet TUCSON, ARIZ. About 25,000 students and other fans traveled to the Utah-Arizona game Saturday night, which was played in 72-degree weather. weath-er. Cross-Country Team The cross-country team made the Tucson trip, too. They had a meet with Arizona's powerful team and made a commendable showing. Scott Bringhurst, a Highland High product, won the meet against Arizona. The tri-meet also included Western New Mexico's team. Bringhurst, an 18-year-old freshman, ran the four miles in 20:53, only eight seconds off the 20:45 record for the Tucson track. Sal Mendoza finished fourth behind Bringhurst and two Arizona Ari-zona aces. Tis time was 21:21. Allan Seeley finished ninth, Pete Meldrum finished eleventh, Ron Zefferer twelfth, Mike Roberts fourteenth, and Mike Evans nineteenth. The Utah team came in second. |
