Show Hinckley to Address Students The Politics of Extremism" the 18th annual Pi Sigma Alpha Spring Lecture, will be given by Mr. Robert H. Hinckley tonight at 8 in the moot courtroom of the Law School, it is open to the public. MR. HINCKLEY has had a long career in business and government He was born in Filmore, Utah, attended Utah schools, and graduated from BYU in 1916. He is a director of Robert H. Hinckley, Inc. (automobiles, real estate, and investments), invest-ments), First Security Corporation, American Paper and Supply Company, and the American Broadcasting Company, of which he is a founder. His government work extends over a twenty year period. He served as the assistant administrator of the WPA, chairman of the Civil Aeronautics Authority, Assistant Secretary of Com- f merce, member of the War Production Board, and director of Contract Settlement which terminated all war contracts of World War II. Mr. Hinckley is also a member of the Board of Regents of the University and Columbia University. THROUGH HIS efforts, the Hinckley Institute of Politics was established here in 1965. The purpose of the Hinckley Institute is to promote an appreciation and understanding of the political process. It sponsors free political movies, visits to the campus by prominent politicians, and internships which enable students to participate directly in practical politics. Prior to the lecture, Pi Sigma Alpha will hold its initiation for new members at 5:30 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge and a banquet ban-quet at 6:30 p.m. in Union 203. |
