Show Architecture Dept. Ranks In Top 18 In one of a series of articles on the professions, "The National Observer," a weekly newspaper, has rated the University Department Depart-ment of Architecture as one of the top 18 in the nation. "SINCE SUCH an award is based on the work of the students stu-dents when they reach professional profes-sional status, we feel justifiably proud of our department," stated Department Chairman Robert Bliss. According to Prof. Bliss, only two or three other schools in states of comparative size hold this distinction. THE DEPARTMENT is young, having been organized in 1949 by Prof. Roger Bailey. Prof. Bliss attributes much of the success of the department to the youth of its faculty. Currently on display in the Architecture Department are several sev-eral displays on proposed renewal re-newal of the downtown area and student projects. |
