Students Prepare Concerts; Profits To Feed Music Fund Reid Nibley as guest piano soloist. solo-ist. It will be held May 19 at 8:30 p.m. in Kingsbury Hall. Mr. Nibley is recognized throughout the United States for his musical ability. He is a graduate of the University of Utah and has in the past served on .the University faculty. The University Symphony Sym-phony Orchestra and Choruses will also be included in the program. PROF. BOOTH stated that a sum of $5,000 is expected to be collected from this fund raising project. Because of the lack of money in the music department in the past, the University has not been able to offer an adequate ade-quate amount of scholarships to high school music students. The music department wishes to make the all-student music concerts an annual affair. The music department is sponsoring spon-soring four , musical concerts spring quarter for the purpose of raising funds for music scholarships. schol-arships. According to Professor Louis W. Booth, director of the concerts, five hundred music students will participate in the music series. The final concert will feature pianist Reid Nibley. THE FIRST of four concerts will be held April 6, in Kingsbury Kings-bury Hall at 8:30 p.m. The University Uni-versity A'cappella choruses will present the program. April 26 a Chamber Music Ensemble program will be held at 8:30 p.m. at Orson Spencer Hall. The third concert in the Music Festival series will be held May 12 at 8:30 p.m. in Kingsbury Hall. The University Band and Chorus will ring out music for the per-'ormance. per-'ormance. TO CLIMAX the music series, ljconcert will present |
